API Integrations: Connecting Your Registration Platform to InGo

Automatically sync your event data and registrants directly into InGo — no manual uploads required.

Overview

InGo's API Integrations allow you to connect your registration platform directly to your InGo community. Once connected, your events are automatically pulled into InGo and your registrant data stays in sync — eliminating the need for manual event creation or spreadsheet uploads.

Key Benefits

Automatic event creation
Events from your registration platform are automatically generated in InGo — no manual entry or spreadsheet uploads needed.

Live data accuracy
Registrant records sync directly from the source, so your attendee, speaker, and sponsor data is always up to date.

VIP notifications
Synced users are eligible for InGo engagement emails that encourage them to post about your event on social media.

How It Works

When the integration is active, InGo pulls your events from your registration platform and creates them in your community with a status of Potential. This is a dormant state — the event exists in InGo but is not yet live. When you're ready, you can activate a Potential event to begin using it like any other InGo event.

User data does not sync to an event while it is in Potential status. Registrant data will only begin flowing in once an event has been activated.

Once an event is activated, InGo continuously syncs registrant data from each linked event. As attendees, speakers, sponsors, and other user groups register and are confirmed in your platform, InGo creates corresponding user records. These records power event performance reporting and make those individuals eligible to receive VIP Notifications — engagement emails that encourage them to share about the event on social media.

Setting Up the Integration

Supported Platforms
InGo currently supports API Integrations with the following registration platforms:

  • Cvent
  • Swoogo
  • Bizzabo
  • Sessionboard
  • ASP
  • Visit by GES
  • RainFocus

Don't see your platform on the list? Reach out to your InGo Customer Success Manager — we're continuously expanding our integrations and would love to hear what platforms matter most to you.

Before you begin: Contact your InGo Customer Success team to enable the Integrations feature for your community.

  1. Go to your Events Dashboard
Once integrations are enabled for your community, navigate to your Events Dashboard page.
  2. Open the Add Events menu
At the top of the dashboard, click the Add Events dropdown and select Integrations from the list.
  3. Select your registration platform
A pop-up screen will appear. Choose the platform you want to connect, then click Next.
  4. Enter your API credentials
Enter the API credentials for your selected platform. Click Test Connection to verify the connection is working, then click Continue.
  5. Configure your data organization
This step varies by platform. You'll be asked to define how user data from your platform maps to InGo. Some platforms use standard buckets (Attendees, Speakers, Sponsors, etc.) — InGo will generate these automatically and you can rename them. Others use custom ticket types, which you will map on an event-by-event basis.
  6. Confirm and sync
Click Confirm & Sync. Wait 15–30 seconds, then refresh the page. Your events will begin appearing on the dashboard with a status of Potential.
  7. Activate your events
From the dashboard, find your Potential events and activate them when you're ready to use them.

Handling Duplicate Events

If an event was already created manually in InGo before the integration was turned on, syncing may generate a duplicate. InGo will flag these automatically in one of two ways:

  • On the original event, a Review Potential Duplicates button will appear next to the event status.
  • On the newly synced event, a warning icon will appear next to the Activate button.

Clicking either will open a pop-up screen identifying the two events in question and asking how you'd like to proceed:

  • Not a duplicate: If our system detection got it wrong, you can activate the new event as its own separate event.
  • Merge events: If confirmed as a duplicate, you'll be taken to a mapping screen where you can connect your registration platform's ticket types to the appropriate InGo user groups. Multiple ticket types can be mapped to a single InGo group. You can also create new InGo groups on the fly during this step.

Once confirmed, the merge is complete and user data will begin flowing from your platform into the InGo event.

Limitations & Known Considerations

  • Data currently syncs once daily. Increased sync frequency is planned for a future release.
  • Duplicate flags must be resolved event-by-event. InGo will not automatically merge events.
  • At this time, only one active integration per InGo community is supported for event creation.
