API Integrations: Connect Your Registration Platform to InGo 

Connect your registration platform to your InGo Community to automate event creation and participant syncing.

Before You Begin

You will need:

  • Access to your InGo Community
  • Access to your registration platform
  • The API credentials required by your registration platform

Each registration platform has its own process for generating or requesting API credentials.

Some registration platforms allow you to generate credentials directly, while others may require assistance from your registration provider.

InGo currently supports API integrations with ASP, Bizzabo, Cvent, RainFocus, Sessionboard, Swoogo, and Visit by GES.

Connect Your Platform

From your InGo Community:

  1. Open the Growth Report.
  2. Go to Execution.
  3. Select Add Events.
  4. Click Connect API.
  5. Choose your registration platform.
  6. Enter the required API credentials.
  7. Click Test Connection.

Choose Which Events to Sync

After InGo successfully authenticates your credentials, you'll be able to review the events available through the connected account.

If your registration account contains events from multiple teams, portfolios, regions, or business units, use filters to control which events should sync to this InGo Community.

You can:

  • Add multiple filters.
  • Preview the events matching your filters.
  • Exclude events you don't want using options such as Does Not Contain.
  • Bypass filtering and sync all eligible events.

Review Your Potential Events

After confirming your sync, your matching events are added to InGo as Potential Events.

A Potential Event exists in InGo but is not yet active.

Participant data does not begin syncing until the event is activated.

Review your Potential Events and activate the events you want to use.

Map Your Participant Types

When activating an integrated event, you may be prompted to map participant classifications from your registration platform to the appropriate InGo Groups.

Depending on your platform, these may be called:

  • Registration Types
  • Admission Items
  • Ticket Types
  • User Types
  • Other participant classifications

Connect a Single Event

You don't have to connect an entire portfolio of events to start using the integration.

You can connect a single event first. This is useful if you want to:

  • Test the integration before expanding it across your portfolio.
  • Connect an existing InGo event to its registration-platform counterpart.
  • Use the API for one event without changing the rest of your portfolio.

Once connected, the event follows the same participant mapping and synchronization process as other integrated events.

Platform Differences

The overall setup process is similar across supported platforms:

Growth Report → Execution → Add Events → Connect API → Authenticate → Filter Events → Sync → Activate → Map Groups

Credential requirements and participant structures vary by registration platform.

For example:

  • Cvent: Participant mapping can use Registration Types or Admission Items.
  • Bizzabo: Participant handling can include ticket types as well as speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors.
  • RainFocus: API access requires the appropriate API profile and attributes.
  • ASP: API Key and Secret may need to be requested through ASP.
  • Visit by GES: API access may require a separate arrangement with Visit by GES.
