Set Up Default Community Graphics
Scale your design assets across many events. Perfect for event series, webinars and frequent recurring meetings.
Default Community Graphics let you design your posting graphic once, at the community level, and have it applied automatically to your events. You no longer have to set up the layout, background, fields, and posting text group by group. Every new event starts with a ready-to-use, on-brand social widget.
Why use Community Graphics
When an event has no posting graphic set up, advocates see an empty widget and are much less likely to share. A community default makes sure every group in every event has a graphic from day one, even if your team never gets around to customizing it.
Where to find it
Community Graphics lives in your Growth Report. Open the Growth Report for your community, go to the Execution section, and select Community Graphics.
Step 1: Configure your default graphic
- Choose your layout. Community Graphics supports the Wide post layout.
- Add your background by uploading an image or choosing a color.
- Choose which fields appear on the graphic, such as event name, event date, group name, attendee name, company logo, and headshot.
- Write your default posting text. You can use dynamic placeholders so each post pulls in the right event details.
- Check the live preview, which updates as you make changes, to see how the graphic will look with event data.
Event details like the event name and date are pulled from each event automatically. Personal details like headshots and logos fill in when an advocate uses the widget. If a field has no data for a particular event or person, it's hidden rather than left blank.
Step 2: Save and deploy
Click Save and Deploy. A confirmation window shows how many groups across how many events will receive the default.
Click Review to see the list of affected events. Each row shows the event name, date, and the groups that will be updated. Uncheck any event you want to leave out, then confirm.
Deploying only applies the default to groups that don't already have a custom graphic. Graphics your team has already set up are never overwritten, and existing posting options aren't reordered.
What happens with new events
After you've saved a community default, every new event you activate in that community automatically uses it. All groups in the event get the default graphic and posting text, and they're ready to share right away. Groups that received the default show a Default Applied indicator.
Customizing a single group
You can still customize any group's graphic at any time. Changes made at the group level only affect that group and don't change your community default.
To undo a group's custom changes, open the group's graphic settings and click Reset to Community Default. After you confirm, the group's graphic is replaced with your current community default.
FAQ
Will this replace graphics I've already made? No. Save and Deploy only fills groups that don't have a custom graphic.
If I update my community default, do existing groups change? Only groups you deploy to (and new events going forward) pick up the change. Groups with custom graphics stay as they are unless you use Reset to Community Default.
Can I use VIP information (booth numbers, session details) on the default graphic? VIP Information fields are available to Advanced Advocates customers.
