Send from Your Own Domain
Sending from your own address, for example events@yourcompany.com, helps participants recognize your emails and can improve deliverability. There's no extra cost.
Good to know
- One domain per community. All events in the community send from the same address.
- Root domains only. Use an address like events@yourcompany.com. Subdomains such as events@mail.yourcompany.com aren't supported yet.
- You'll need someone who can add DNS records for your domain, usually your IT or web team.
How to set it up
- Email support@ingo.me or your InGo Account Manager with:
- The exact sending address you want to use.
- The community it's for
- A contact on your IT or DNS team.
- We'll send you a set of DNS records (CNAME and TXT records).
- Your IT team adds the records to your domain exactly as provided:
- Set them to DNS only. If you use Cloudflare, turn the proxy off for these records.
- Enter the Host value exactly as given, without adding your domain again.
- Let us know when the records are added. We'll verify them and complete the setup.
- We'll confirm once your emails are sending from the new address.
PRO TIP: Start this at least a week before your first send. DNS changes can take time, and emails keep sending from info@ingo.me until setup is complete.
Add a Compliance Footer
If your organization needs legal and privacy details in its emails, InGo can add a compliance footer to your VIP Notifications. It works with both HTML and Plain-text emails.
Send InGo Support your:
- Organization Legal Name
- Display Name (the organization name recipients recognize, shown in the footer)
- Mailing Address
- Privacy Policy URL
The footer is set up by InGo for your community. You can update these details for individual events in the event details.
Unsubscribes
Every VIP Notification includes an unsubscribe link. Recipients can unsubscribe from that event, or from all events in your community.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we change the sender name?
Not at the moment. The sender name is always your event name followed by "Notifications", even when you send from your own domain.
Can replies go to a different address?
Not at the moment. Replies go to the sender address. If participants need to reach your team, include a contact email in the Body of the email.
Can each event use a different sender address?
No. The sender domain is set per community. If you need a different address for some events, talk to your InGo Account Manager about a separate community.
We added the records, but emails still come from info@ingo.me.
Let InGo Support know. We complete a final verification step after your records are added.
Does a custom domain change the email content?
No. Only the sender address changes.
