Start with your Growth Report
Learn how to turn your referral growth data into a clear action plan.
The Growth Report helps you understand how your events are growing through advocacy, where your campaign stands today, and what actions may be needed to reach your referral growth potential.
Use the Growth Report to answer key questions:
- Are we aligned on our goals and growth plan?
- Are we on track to hit our expected growth?
- Which activation channels are planned?
- Which activation channels have actually been executed?
- What should we do next?
You can access the Growth Report from the left-hand side of your InGo admin dashboard.
What You’ll See in the Growth Report
The Growth Report is organized into four main areas:
- The Social Scroll
A real-time view of recent advocate posts from your events. - Performance Status
A chart showing Current, On Track, and Planned performance. - Goals, Plan, and Execution
A leadership view that helps your team set goals, define the activation plan, and track whether that plan is being executed. - Event-Level Execution
A detailed view of which events are ready, which need action, and who is responsible for next steps.
Live Advocate Activity

At the top of the Growth Report, you will see the Social Scroll. These are the recent advocate posts from your events, sorted by engagement.
This feed shows real people sharing your event across social platforms. You may see advocate names, graphics, post previews, timestamps, and click activity.
Use this section to confirm that advocacy is happening and to understand which events, advocates, or graphics are generating engagement.
This is especially helpful if you manage multiple events or advocate campaigns because it gives you a quick visual signal of where referral activity is gaining traction.
Understanding Current, On Track, and Planned Performance

The main performance section compares three views of your campaign: Current, On Track, and Planned.
You can use the Change View button to review performance by your selected reporting metric, such as Connection Clicks, Connection Acquisitions, or Advocates.
Current
Current performance shows what has already been achieved from your contract start date through today.
Depending on your selected reporting metric, this may include current advocates, referral clicks, or referral-driven acquisitions.
On Track
On Track is a projection of where your campaign is expected to finish if current momentum continues.
Use this to understand whether your current activity level is likely to meet your growth expectations.
Planned
Planned performance shows what your selected activation channels are expected to deliver when fully executed.
This projection is based on peer benchmarks for events of similar size and activation setup.
Why the Gap Between On Track and Planned Matters

One of the most important parts of the Growth Report is the gap between On Track and Planned.
If your On Track number is lower than your Planned number, it usually means one or more of the following is true:
- Your planned activation channels have not all been executed yet.
- Your campaign needs additional motivation or optimization.
- Your campaign is still early, and performance has not had enough time to catch up.
Use this gap to decide what action to take next. For example, if Planned performance is strong but On Track performance is low, the next step is usually to review execution and activate the highest-impact missing channel.
How to Read Common Growth Report Scenarios
Scenario 1: High Planned Growth, Low On Track Performance
This means your selected activation channels are expected to perform well, but current campaign activity is not yet matching the plan.
Common causes include:
- VIP Notifications have not been sent
- Registration install is not live
- Graphics have not been uploaded
- Participant data has not been refreshed
- The event is still early in the campaign window
- Recommended action: Review the execution section and activate the highest-impact missing channel first.
Scenario 2: Low Planned Growth
This usually means few or no activation channels have been selected.
Recommended action: Review your activation plan and select the channels your team expects to use. Your Planned projection will update based on the selected channels.
Scenario 3: On Track Meets or Exceeds Planned Performance
This means your current campaign activity is performing at or above the planned benchmark.
Recommended action: Review whether your plan is ambitious enough. If additional channels are available, consider adding them to increase total growth potential.
Scenario 4: No Events Are Visible
This may mean events have not yet been created in InGo, participant data has not been uploaded, or your API integration is not connected.
Recommended action: Contact your InGo Account Manager or Customer Success contact. If your event is coming up soon, manually uploading your participant list may be the fastest way to make the event visible while integration setup is completed.

Setting Goals
The Goals section helps your team define what success looks like for your organization and connect your referral growth plan to business outcomes.
At the top of the Goals panel, you can configure and modify inputs that help calculate your Community Benchmarks, which shows what similar events are expected to achieve based on expected participants.
Below the benchmark, you can select the goals that best match your priorities, such as growing registration revenue, thrilling exhibitors, generating pipeline, reducing acquisition cost, or saving time. Some goals include additional inputs, such as average revenue per attendee or average cost per click. These values help the Growth Report estimate the financial impact of your referral growth program.
Once your goals are set, save them so your team can use them as the foundation for planning and execution.

Establishing a Plan
The Plan section shows which activation channels are expected to drive referral growth.
Each selected channel contributes to your Planned projection. As you add or remove channels, your plan updates to show what your campaign is expected to deliver when those channels are fully activated.
Use this section to confirm that the right growth channels are selected for your event timeline, audience, and available resources.

Execution
The Execution section helps you track whether the channels in your plan have actually been activated.
This is important because selecting a channel in the plan does not automatically mean it is live. The Execution view helps you identify which events are ready, which still need action, and what steps need to be completed next.
Use this section to keep your team accountable and make sure your growth plan is being carried out across each event.

Event-Level Follow-Through
For teams managing multiple events, the event-level table helps you see where attention is needed.
You can review owner assignments, next recommended tasks, performance status, planned growth, and execution progress. This makes it easier to run weekly growth check-ins, identify blockers, and notify the right people when action is needed.
Use this view when you need to understand which specific events are on track, which need support, and who should take the next step.
Frequently Asked QuestionsCan I change the metric shown in the Growth Report?
Yes. You can switch between Advocates, Connection Clicks, and Connection Acquisitions.
The underlying campaign data remains the same. The report changes which KPI is emphasized.
Which reporting metric should I use?
Use Connection Clicks if you want to understand reach, engagement, and referral-driven interest.
Use Connection Acquisitions if you want to understand registration impact and audience growth.
Use Advocates if you want to understand participation and whether enough people are sharing your event.
Why is my On Track projection different from my Planned projection?
On Track is based on current campaign momentum.
Planned is based on your expected participants and the activation channels selected in your plan, using peer benchmark performance.
If On Track is lower than Planned, check whether all planned channels are active. If your event is early in the registration window, the gap may close as more participants register and more advocacy activity occurs.
What counts as an advocate?
An advocate is any unique participant who posts at least one referral during the campaign window for an event.
A single post through a supported channel counts as advocacy activity.
How are peer benchmark projections calculated?
Peer benchmark projections are based on InGo performance data from similar events.
Benchmarks consider factors such as expected participants, selected activation channels, and comparable campaign performance.
Why don’t I see my upcoming event?
The Growth Report displays events with a start date within your current contract year by default.
Use the filters at the top of the report to review a past or future contract year if an event start date falls outside the current contract year.
What should I do if my Growth Report says something is “not installed,” but I thought it was?
Review the execution section to confirm whether the activation step has been completed and detected by InGo.
If you believe the channel is installed but the report still shows it as not installed, contact your InGo Account Manager, Customer Success contact, or support@ingo.me for help confirming the setup.
