Social Post Information Population, LinkedIn and Facebook

Purpose of this article is to explain how social posts information populated for different social networks.

Everywhere next we assume sections for according widgets languages (default is English).

Linkedin

Typical social post looks like this:

Let split it by sections we populate only:

Red box contains text that user is populating in SW (share tab) - we prepopulate this text from Advocacy Texts -> Linkedin (or Default if empty) -> Advocacy Post. For CW this text are comming from Advocacy Texts -> Linkedin (or Default if empty) -> Attendee Post - user is not able to edit this text.

Green box contains image taken from Logos -> Social Media Post Logo. Linkedin is able to populate this image from posted URL OG meta tag.

Purple box contains name of event taken from Edit -> Name. Linkedin is able to populate this from URL OG meta tag.

Blue box contains text from Edit -> Description. Domain name is taken from posted URL. Linkedin is able to populate this from URL OG meta tag.

When we create post we provide also URL (it is taken from Edit -> Website URL) it is available when clicking by section containing green, purple and blue boxes.

Facebook

For facebook we never presuggest user text for post (it is not allowed by Facebook). Typical Facebook post:

Let split it by sections we populate:

Red box contains text that user is populating in SW invitation tab, in SW share tab. Posts created by CW never will contain any text in this red box.

Green box contains image taken from Logos -> Social Media Post Logo. Facebook is able to populate this image from posted URL OG meta tag.

Purple box contains name of event taken from Edit -> Name. Facebook is able to populate this from URL OG meta tag.

Blue box contains text from Edit -> Description. Facebook is able to populate this from URL OG meta tag.

When we create post we provide also URL (it is taken from Edit -> Website URL) it is available when clicking by section containing green, purple and blue boxes.

NB Important technical details:

When first post created for event we are calling facebook API to create Graph API object that represent event information from green, purpleblue boxes and URL. If this Graph API object was used or seen more than 40 times (it literally means this post was seen by 40 different users or we created 40 different posts) it is not possible to update this information (changes from Admin will not be seen) without dev team help, also in case of dev team help, all facebook app analytics will be erased (that seen inside facebook only not our analytics).

That is why please make sure to edit all these fields before creating any posts for Facebook.
