AutoVisible Popup and Popover: How to make your Social Surface always visible

Ensure visibility of your Social Surface even if its below the fold. 

AutoVisible helps attendees find your InGo Social Surface on your registration confirmation page, even when it’s installed further down the page. You can bring sharing tools into view without changing your confirmation page layout.

AutoVisible applies only to embedded widgets. If the widget’s call-to-action button is below the fold, meaning attendees need to scroll to see it, AutoVisible opens the Social Surface automatically. It does not apply to Social Surfaces already installed as popups.

AutoVisible Popup

Use Popup to bring the Social Surface into view when attendees might otherwise miss it.

When the page loads, InGo checks whether the embedded Social Surface’s call-to-action button is visible without scrolling. If it isn’t, the Social Surface opens automatically in a closable popup.

Closing the popup leaves the embedded Social Surface available in its original location.

AutoVisible Popover

Use Popover to give attendees a convenient way to access sharing tools throughout their visit.

An InGo icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the page. Clicking it opens a compact Social Surface with sharing and invitation options. If the embedded Social Surface’s call-to-action button is below the visible area when the page loads, the panel opens automatically.

Attendees can:

  • Click the icon to open the panel.
  • Select X to close it.
  • Click the icon again to reopen it.

Clicking outside the panel does not close it. Completing a share displays a success message inside the panel without automatically closing it.

The icon stays available as attendees scroll. On smaller screens, the panel expands to nearly the full screen width.

Configure AutoVisible in Growth Reports
  1. Open Growth Reports.
  2. Open the Execution modal and select Motivate More Advocates.
  3. Use Now Editing to choose Everyone (Default) or a specific group.
  4. Open Maximize Social Surface Exposure.
  5. Configure your preferred AutoVisible behavior.
  6. Save your changes.

The default settings apply across events and groups unless a group has an override.

To return an overridden group to the default settings, select that group and choose Remove override. Group overrides include both Social Surface enhancement and exposure settings.

Configure AutoVisible for a specific event group
  1. Open the event’s Event Summary page.
  2. Open Edit Group for the group you want to update.
  3. Find the Social Surface exposure settings.
  4. Configure AutoVisible and save your changes.

This setting overrides the default for that group.

Check the attendee experience

After saving, open your confirmation page and check the following:

  • Automatic opening: If the embedded call-to-action button is already visible when the page loads, an automatic popup or panel is not expected.
  • Popup dismissal: After closing the popup, attendees can still access the embedded Social Surface.
  • Popover access: Attendees can close the compact panel and reopen it from the InGo icon.
  • Existing popups: The InGo icon is hidden while another Social Surface popup is open, preventing attendees from opening multiple sharing windows at once.

The Popover uses the existing widget script, so no additional embed code is required.
